Compact: View down First Street

Looking West from the top of First Street toward main Road. In the middle distance is Teralba and the pithead of the Stockton Borehole colliery. In the far distance can be seen the Southern reach of the Sugarloaf Range. On the right side are the tree-covered mounds at the smelter's boundaries, part of the ongoing environmental improvements at the site. One of the plans for possible future redevelopment shows most of the street and the housing blocks on the right turned into a "greenway", featuring sculptured terrain, copses and footpaths. Vehicular access to the pubs in First and Second streets will be maintained however by an alternate route.
