View North from Eighth Street

This view shows most of Main Road's North-South length. In the far distance can be seen part of the smelter, and close to the camera can be seen the newly tarred surface of Eighth Street, the border between Boolaroo and Speers Point. On the left, hidden from view by the house on the corner is the site of the well known Cornford's Delicatessen. The shop, trading for more than 20 years till the owner's retirement last year, was a favourite lunchstop of both townsfolk and local council employees from Speers Point.
