[Gallery Section] [Home Page] [Site Map Section]

The site has been designed with ease of navigation in mind. Each major section contains a set of three arrow buttons (or inline text for text browsers). The buttons allow movement in either a horizontal direction or vertically. There is a wraparound effect.
For example, the left-arrow button ("[Gallery Section]" in text browsers) will take the user to the previous section at the current level of hierarchy. This is quicker than moving up one level and selecting Gallery from the menu.
This also works at deeper levels, such as at an issue of the Boolaroo Bulletin. The 3-arrow button group at the top of each bulletin allows movement between each issue.

There are two types of navigation arrows -
Arrow buttons with stems indicate movement between web pages
Arrow buttons without stems indicate movement within a page, such as to the next paragraph, or to the top of the page.

If you ever get lost, go to the bottom of a page and click on the "Home" button to return to the Table of Contents.

The online photograph albums
The online photo albums contain many large JPEG images. Each page contains a set of "thumbnail" images (quarter size or less) which can be clicked on the view the original large image. Since the average size of the original sized photos is 60Kb it might take several minutes to load one. To estimate the time, first read the size in Kilobytes at the bottom of the thumbnail image of the photo you want to view. Calculate the time in seconds it would take at the full speed of your modem. Adjust this in comparison to the current transfer speed you're experiencing.
The fastest a 60Kb image will arrive via a 28.8Kbps modem will be 20 seconds, but will probably be at least 60 seconds. If you add other factors such as quality of the phone lines, server latency, proxy server, bandwidth congestion etc etc then double any guestimate you arrive at.
In other words, only click on the thumbnail images that you really, really wish to see in detail.
