January 1999 - notice

The City Council has erected signs declaring the restriction of skateboard and bicycle access to a number of locations in town.


March 1999 - announcement

The Environmental Health Centre's new mascot, "Peli" the pelican, was officially named at Boolaroo Public School on the 3rd.


March 1999 - event

Boolaroo's 3-hour Pre-Easter Bargain Sale is on the 27th. The Easter Bonnet Parade will start at 10:30am. Local children are invited to meet at the Boolaroo Fruit Shop at 10:15am to greet the Boolaroo Easter Bunny and have fun with free balloon give-aways and chocolate eggs.


March 1999 - announcement

At the recent special general meeting at the Sulphide Welfare Club, members voted for a name change to "Club Macquarie". The name change was believed necessary to reflect the larger role the club now has in the community.


April 1999 - event

Lake Macquarie Children's Festival will be held in the Easter School Holidays on Sunday 11th at 10:00am. It will be a Charity Day, raising funds for the John Hunter Childrens' Hospital and the Royal Institute fo Deaf and Blind Children's Tingira Centre.


November 1999 - event

The Annual Boolaroo Street Fair will be held on the 7th.
